AzureBio was set up on the basis of prior experience in drug stabilization and delivery and application of biomaterials in human health.

THE TEAM

Dr. Arcadio Garcia de Castro - Director and Founder. Experience includes senior scientific Business Development positions at Chimera Pharma (Spain) OncoStem Pharma (Spain) and PharmaMar-Zeltia (Spain). Prior to this Dr G. de Castro was R&D director and founder of Cambridge Biostability Ltd. (UK), and researcher at the Univ. of Cambridge (UK) and Quadrant Healthcare (UK). Dr G. de Castro is BSc in Microbiology and PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Surrey (UK).

Pedro Garcia de Castro - Secretary to the Board of Directors and Legal Advisor. Qualified Solicitor with over 20 years experience in corporate law. Formerly Director of the Legal Dept. of Atlantic Copper, S.A (affiliate of Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold) and at present Senior Partner at IRCAZ Abogados (Madrid). B.A. in Law from the Univ. of Kent (UK) and B.A. in Law from the Univ. Complutense de Madrid, Diploma in International Economics from the Univ. of St. Louis-Missouri (Madrid) and Master of Laws (LL.M) Univ. College of London (UK).

Alejandro Gregorio - Administration and Finance. Alejandro has lon term experience in the administration and finance of small biotechnology enterprises. Previous positions at Bionostra Group.

Dr. Raul Carrodeguas - Senior Scientific Advisor. Vice-Director of the Center of Biomaterials of the University of Havana (Havana, Cuba) since 1999. Presently at the Institute of Ceramic and Glass of the CSIC (Madrid). Over 20 years experience in basic research and applied developments of ceramic and composite biomaterials. Dr. Carrodeguas has a BSc in Chemistry, an MSc in Inorganic Chemistry and a PhD in Chemistry from the Univ. of Havana (Cuba).

Dr. Sussette Padilla - Bone Regeneration Project. Has been researching into bone regeneration biomaterials for 15 years. Dr. Padilla has worked at the Center of Biomaterials (Cuba), the Faculty of Pharmacy at Univ. Complutense de Madrid and in the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the Duisburg-Essen Univ. (Germany). She is PhD from the Univ. Complutense de Madrid, MSc in Inorganic Chemistry and BSc in Chemistry from the Univ. of Havana.

Resu Alloza - Drug Stabilisation and Delivery. Over 20 years experience in Drug and Vaccine Stabilization. Research positions held at Laboratorios Hipra (Spain) and Laboratorios Ipsen (Spain). Resu is a certified Pharmaceutical Industry Specialist and has a BSc in Pharmacy from the Univ. of Barcelona and an MSc in Project Management from La Salle.

Dr. Gema Galayo - Injectable Needle Project. Experienced in the design of drug delivery systems based on biodegradable and biocompatible polymers. Dr Galayo worked at Ingeniatrics (Sevilla), Pfizer (Kent,UK) and Degussa (Germany). Dr. Galayo has a PhD in Pharmacy from the Univ. Complutense de Madrid.

Diana Dorado has long term experience in providing technical support to biotechnology projects.
