Bone regeneration has become standard practice in periodontal clinics for alveolar reconstruction prior to artificial tooth implants.

AzureBio is developing a synthetic bone regeneration matrix in collaboration with the faculty of Pharmacy at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Comparative clinical trials were initated in 2007 on periodontal bone regeneration. Preliminar data on five patients have demonstrated improved bone regeneration capacity of the experimental material over stantard bovine derived bone.
