Drug and vaccine stabilisation and delivery are an integral part of the technologies and expertise at AzureBio. Solid-state stabilisation of biologicals is a technology learned from "anhydrobiotic" organisms such as baker's yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, resurrection plant Selaginella lepidophylla, or rotifers of the Philodina sp., all of which survive complete desiccation in a state of "latent life" that does not require cold storage.

AzureBio has incorporated pharmaceutical developments based on this knowledge in the stabilisation of drugs, vaccines and reagents that not require refrigeration and can be formulated to simplify their use by avoiding recostitution, dilution, or mixing procedures which are normally required.
